1950 - 2026
Elizabeth Anne "Libbie" Bayly (nee-Czyl), age 75, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, in Chicago, Illinois. Born on August 8, 1950, in the same city she called home throughout her life, Libbie leaves behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and joy.
Libbie was the beloved widow of Dr. Melvyn A. Bayly Jr., and the cherished daughter of Anne and Edward Czyl of Chicago, who preceded her in death. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Leslie Bayly; her son Andrew & Jill Bayly; and her two brothers, Peter Czyl and Michael Czyl.
A proud graduate of the New Graduate Nurse Residency Program For RNs at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, Libbie dedicated her professional life to the field of nursing. Her career was marked by a deep commitment to patient care and family support. Later in her career, she served as a Care Plan Coordinator for families at Presbyterian Homes, where she brought empathy and clarity to those navigating complex healthcare decisions.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Libbie embraced life with warmth and enthusiasm. She was an avid shopper with an eye for style and detail. Her love for travel took her and her husband across the globe, enriching their lives with diverse experiences and cultures. A passionate cook, Libbie turned her culinary talents into a catering business that reflected both creativity and care. Her garden was another source of joy—a place where she nurtured beauty with the same devotion she gave to everything else in her life.
Those who knew her will remember her as loving, fun, and caring—a woman whose presence brought comfort and laughter.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be at a future date this year.
