Elizabeth "Betty"Turner Mazzuca passed away in Beacon, New York on February 18, 2026 at the age of 96.
Betty or Bozsi as her sisters called her, was born on December 11, in Manhattan, New York. Betty was the beloved child of Joseph and Katherine Kish. She grew up in the Bronx with her sister's Grace, and Irene.
Betty married her first husband, William "Ed"Turner, and together they had six children three of which were raised in Clinton Corners, New York. She worked as a medical secretary in Poughkeepsie, New York for most of her life. Outside of work and raising her children, she had a passion for animals and the farm. she lived on specifically her pet rooster, "Sammy."Betty had a love for gardening, along with knitting and crocheting and passed these skills onto several of her grandchildren. Her grandchildren will remember her best for her "Betty bags",full of newspaper clippings, and random items and for her dollar bills taped together in their birthday cards. Even though she enjoyed her Hungarian food. Her restaurant of choice was Olive Garden. She thought they made the best soup, but recently discovered a love for Hershey kisses and seeing how many she could fit in her mouth at once, "which was four".
Betty is survived by her children Robert "Bob"(Kathy) Turner, Patricia Turner, Barbara(Dennis) Farina, Tom
(Marlene) Klos, Carol Wrenn, and Melinda Schwartz.
Her grandchildren, Seth(Lindsay) Martinez, Daniel(Nicole) Martinez, Roslyn(Edward) Nieves, Christopher Ruscillo, Brittney(Micheal) Rossi, Becca(Richard) Belliveau, Jim(Kayla) Farina, Erin(Raegan) Haisler,Kristen (Kyle) Kelley,Patrick Wrenn, Kelli Hartley,Callie(Tom) Dietrich, Jesse(Jessie) Schwartz,Mara(Ryan) Sturgis.
Along with 25 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her sister's Grace Horka,and Irene Ryan along with her first husband, Ed Turner, and her second husband, John Mazzuca
Throughout the years Betty was an active member in her community. She wrote for the Millbrook Round Table and was a member of the Clinton Corners Community Friends Church.She also enjoyed going to the Hungarian church in Poughkeepsie to speak Hungarian and enjoy the foods she grew up with. She also volunteered for Friends for Seniors of Duchess County.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in every story shared,every recipe prepared and every act of kindness done in her memory.
She will be deeply missed and remembered by those that knew her and forever loved.
