Elizabeth Barry “Betty” Mervine, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in December 2025.

Betty was born in January 1940 in Auburn, New York, to Howard and Elizabeth Barry. She was a proud graduate of Syracuse University, where she earned her nursing degree and began a lifelong career devoted to caring for others. After college, she worked at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

In 1965, Betty married the love of her life, William “Bill” Mervine. Together they made their home in Warren, Pennsylvania, where Betty worked for many years at Warren General Hospital. Above all else, she cherished her role as a mother, devoting herself wholeheartedly to raising her three children—her greatest joy and pride.

Betty and Bill shared a special love of golf, spending many happy hours together on the course. After retiring, they relocated to Florida to be closer to their children, grandchildren and to enjoy warm weather and year‑round golf.

Betty is survived by her devoted husband, William Mervine; her daughter, Katherine Humphreys (Joseph Humphreys) of Tierra Verde, Florida; her sons, Jeffrey Mervine (Debora Mervine) of Orlando, Florida, and Michael Mervine of Tampa, Florida; and her beloved grandchildren, Frances and Charles.

She is also survived by her siblings: Agnes (Dan Robert) of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Kathleen (James Duffy) of Naples, Florida; Tony (Annette Barry) of Holly, New York; John (Mary Barry) of Goodyear, Arizona; and Eileen (Bob Rivello) of Clyde, New York.

Betty will be remembered for her kindness, her dedication to family, and the love she shared so freely. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
