Elizabeth "Liz" Roberts Swarthout, age 94, passed peacefully to her heavenly home on December 30th 2025.
Elizabeth was born on June 25, 1931, in Enondale, Mississippi, to Duncan Earl Roberts and Nina Drake Roberts. In 1953, she married Kenneth Lowrel Swarthout Jr., and together they shared a marriage centered on faith, family, and service.
Elizabeth worked at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (formerly UMC) in Jackson, Mississippi, before retiring to devote her time to focusing on her family and assisting her husband for many years in his law practice.
A woman of strong Christian faith, Elizabeth lived with her heart fully committed to the Lord. She was deeply devoted to her family and cherished the relationships she shared with them. She was especially close to her sister, Vivian, and maintained loving relationships with her three nieces and their families. Each day, Elizabeth looked forward to spending time with her friends, whom she held dear.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving son, Kenneth Lowrel Swarthout III, and her devoted daughter-in-law, Robin Swarthout. She loved her three grandchildren, Zach (Kayla) Bondi, Erica (Eric) Welford and Christian (Aida) Bondi. She also cherished her five great grandchildren, Hailey Bondi, Baelyn Welford, Brighton Green, Kasen Welford and Corbin Welford, who all lovingly called her Gma.
Elizabeth made 2 requests, she wanted her body to be donated to UMMC for medical research and she requested to not have a service. In true Liz fashion, she always thought of others.
While her family grieves her passing, their sorrow is met with the hope and calm assurance that Elizabeth is now with her Lord and Savior, worshiping and serving Him in heaven.
