Ella Corrine Capobianco went Home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior on November 14, 2025. She was 92 years old. Ella was born on November 28, 1932 in Providence RI, to her parents Angelina (Scungio) Amore and Giro Antonio Amore. She is survived by her sister, Lucylle Phillips, and her children and their spouses: Corinne Capobianco, Cliff Capobianco and his wife Beth, Steve Capobianco and his wife Sherry, Leslie Stark and her husband Adam, and her son-in-law Mickey Stephens. Ella was "Grammy" to Anthony, Angela, Christine, Ka'lun, Joshua, Micah, Alexander, Elliot, Nicholas, and Braeden. She was "Great-Grammy" to Nolan, Gavin, Bryce, Jasmine, Liam, Kaisaiah, Jonah, Samuel, and Connor. To her nephew Jerry Phillips and his wife Denise, and her niece Kim Simonetti and her husband Dave, Ella was "Auntie Ella". Ella's life plan was to have several children. She realized this dream, and she always put her family first.
Ella was preceded in death by her loving and loyal husband, Rocco Capobianco, and two of her daughters, Cheryl Stephens and Lisa Capobianco. Rocco was Ella's "rock". Both of them loved each other and loved Jesus. Together, they taught the family about Jesus by word and example. Once Rocco left this earth, Ella relied on her faith and her Holy Spirit for strength. She was strong - unafraid despite living alone, and kind - welcoming to all who crossed her path.
As she approached her 9th decade, Ella's mind began to fade and she moved to Memory Care, where she met many new friends and caretakers. She was kind to each one, thanking them for helping her, hugging everyone she could and saying "I love you" to all. Ella's family was grateful that her personality didn't change. Even though she lost her recall and memories, she retained her sweet nature and her constant concern for others.
Ella now resides in the kingdom of Heaven, with a perfect mind, at peace, and in eternal love. A celebration of Ella's life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11:00, at the Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, 2750 Rogers Avenue, Ellicott City, MD, 21043.
