Ellen Ruth Reddick departed this life on January 5, 2026, after a lengthy illness. She lived her life as a beloved grandmother, a caring mother, a loyal friend, and a steward of her community who loved animals and good books.
Ellen was born January 22, 1947, to Pat Reddick and raised by her mother and stepfather, Mike Reddick, in a family of four brothers. She graduated from Highland High School and completed a degree in English at the University of Utah. She is the mother of Erica and the grandmother of Sophia, both of whom she loved dearly. She was proud of Erica's pursuits as a singer, Pilates instructor, and business owner, and loved talking to friends about Sophia's accomplishments. Becoming a grandmother was the highlight of Ellen's life, and she and Sophia had an incredibly special bond.
Ellen was in management for Fairchild Telecommunications in her early career, and in 2002, she started Impact Factory, specializing in training, personal and organizational consulting, business etiquette, and communication processes.
Ellen was known in the community for many things - always having a beautiful garden, a car trunk full of flags to replenish the crosswalks, and being up-to-date on the latest business etiquette and emergency preparedness practices. She was always a large advocate for the importance of community and participated in many groups that she believed bettered those around her. Ellen was also a tremendous animal lover and idolized many animal activists, most notably Jane Goodall.
Ellen is survived by her daughter, Erica Lukes, and her granddaughter, Sophia Isom (Chuck Isom and Shelly Brown). Her four brothers, David Reddick, Stephen Reddick, Paul Reddick, and Michael Reddick, and her parents, Pat and Mike Reddick, all preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31, at 12 pm at the Wasatch 3rd Ward building, 2115 East Roosevelt Avenue. Friends and family are welcome to join us at 10:30 AM before the service at the church to share stories and memories informally.
Ellen's family would like to extend a special thank you to Capitol Hill Senior Living for their exceptional care and compassion.
