Ellen Jane Tisinai

Ellen Jane Tisinai passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025 at the age of 74. Born on May 13, 1951 in Elmhurst, Ellen grew up in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Oldest daughter of James Edward Beers and Jane Beers (Simpson). She attended beauty school which became her passion. She was a beautician for over 40 years and also sold Avon Products. After marrying Brian Tisinai in 1971, they raised Melissa and Tony in Carol Stream. Ellen was involved with their school's events and PTO. She worked as a deli clerk at local grocery stores for a few years. Then, worked as a Carrier Manager for a local newspaper. Ellen was known for baking banana bread, watching her soap operas, gardening, painting her nails, spending time with her friends, playing Bunco, camping; and vacationing in Wisconsin Dells. She found her love of lighthouses in Door County, a place that always brought her peace and joy. She had a special love for turtles and delighted in collecting anything with a turtle on it. She enjoyed 7 layer burritos and Mountain Dew from Taco Bell. It made her so happy to host a wine night at her house where she would share her favorite, blueberry wine from Cooper's Hawk. She enjoyed so many of life’s little pleasures, though she never did develop a taste for strawberries.
23 years ago they moved to West Chicago. Despite living with Multiple Sclerosis and other health issues, she stayed strong and positive. She thoroughly enjoyed time with her kids and grandkids. Ellen was loved by everyone that met her, leaving a comforting impression on anyone who spent time with her. She is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Brian John Tisinai. Ellen is survived by her daughter Melissa (Jeff) Mull; son Tony (Amanda) Tisinai; her cherished grandchildren Madeline, Evelyn, Lillian, Teigan and Caden and many other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 415 N Gary Ave, Carol Stream, IL 60188 and on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 10-11 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetary, 20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL, 60421 at 1:30 p.m.
