Eloise Homa Rhodes

Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved mother, Eloise Homa Rhodes, who passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 25, 2026, at the age of 84.

Eloise was born and raised in Carnegie, PA. She later made her home in Addison, IL where she lovingly raised her two children. In time, she moved to the Florida Keys before ultimately settling in DeLand, FL where she spent her retirement years.

She worked as a bookkeeper for a variety of companies throughout her life and was always involved in her community where she lived, whether as the "Picture Lady" at her children's school, a crossing guard, CCD principal and teacher, among many other roles. Her greatest passion was volunteering with hospice, where her kind and understanding heart brought comfort to many. In a meaningful circle, she was surrounded by that same compassion in her final moments.

Eloise had a remarkable gift for connecting with people, everyone she met was immediately drawn to her warmth. She listened without judgement and always chose to see the positive side of things. She lived her life with peace and embraced all of life's positives.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years; Donald Rhodes, who passed away on March 3, 2026; her parents, Harry and Louise Homa; and her brothers, P.J. and Harry Homa.

She is survived by her children, Eldon Rhodes of Wisconsin, and Donel Rhodes Accorsi (Sam) of Pittsburgh, PA, who will miss her very much. She is also survived by her two loving granddaughters who will miss her dearly, Emily Accorsi (fiancé Beau Bacho) and Stephanie D'Aloiso (Brandon), as well as her two loving sisters (a.k.a. "The Cartel") Carlotta Homa Linck (Gary) and Christine Homa Zyra (Joe), along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, no public funeral service will be held. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
