Elsa Dora Geier
March 23, 1934 - August 24, 2025
Elsa Dora Geier went home to be with the Lord on August 24th, 2025 at 91 years of age. Elsa was born on March 23, 1934 in Elgin, ND to Pauline and Gottfried Hintz. Elsa grew up in Mandan, ND graduating from Mandan High School where she met and married the love of her life Arthur Geier on May 27, 1955. Elsa and Art moved to Oregon with their infant daughter in 1957 where they settled in Beaverton where they welcomed their second child. They later moved to Pilot Rock for a season and eventually Elsa and Art settled in the town of Mt Angel, OR where they raised their family and stayed for 34 years. Elsa worked in the banking industry holding positions as a bank teller, loan officer and then bank manager until her retirement in 1989. Elsa loved to travel the world with her beloved husband and they both enjoyed the Oregon Coast where they lived for ten years after they retired before settling in Salem Oregon. She cherished time with her children, grandchildren, relatives and their many close friends. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and loved having everyone near. Through the years she served in several areas of the churches they attended such as church secretary, Youth Leader, and deaconess. She was supportive and a faithful prayer warrior for all those she knew. Elsa leaves a legacy of faithful devotion to her Savior Jesus Christ and found joy in her daily Bible reading. One of her favorites is Psalms 118:28,29 You are my God, and I will praise you, you are my God, and I will exalt you. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Elsa was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arthur Geier, her parents, Gottfried Hintz and Pauline Kessler; three brothers Jacob Hintz, Ernhold Hintz, Ervin Hintz, and two sisters, Viola Stern and Ann Wruck. Elsa is survived by her two children, Laura Geier and Michael Geier (Beverly) Four grandchildren, Erica Shubin (David), James Atkinson, Jason Geier, Joshua Geier (Kaitlyn) as well as seven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers one of Elsa's devotions was to help children, from the unborn through young children.
