Emelie Breaux Frazer, aged 90, passed away on March 15, 2026, in Covington, LA, just one day shy of her 90th birthday but in New Zealand where her daughter lives, it was already March 16th so she died on her 90th birthday. Born on March 16, 1936, in Montegut Louisiana, she was the beloved daughter of Edna and Earl Breaux.
A graduate of Terrebonne High School and the Charity School of Nursing class of 1957, Emelie dedicated her life to the arts as a visual artist and musician, bringing joy and creativity to her community. Alongside her professional pursuits, she was deeply involved in local activities, serving as a Council Woman at Large in Mamou, LA, and as an active member of the Rotary Club of Mamou.
Emelie's zest for life was evident through her diverse hobbies. She and her husband Chuck, who shared over 40 years of marriage, enjoyed golf, Cajun dancing, scuba diving, snow skiing, and traveling. Her enthusiasm for life and community involvement left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Emelie is survived by two daughters, Michelle Minyard, Mynette Minyard, a son Marc Minyard (Tammy) and three step daughters, Denise Frazer Albrecht (Irving), Janice Frazer Mistich, Cindy Frazer-Taylor (Steve). She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Frazer, parents, Edna and Earl Breaux, her siblings Iona Hebert, Beverly Waggoner, Rhea Bratcher, Earl Breaux Jr., Lloyd Breaux, and her son-in-law, Raymond Mistich.
Arrangements for Emelie are private. In remembrance of her life and passions, contributions may be made to the Christopher Stafford Memorial Foundation, supporting Cajun and Creole music, a cause close to her heart. Emelie's legacy of joy, creativity, and community service will be cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.
