Emily Hodgson, born on March 16, 1982, in Elgin, Illinois, passed away at her home in Somonauk, Illinois, on December 5, 2025, at the age of 43, surrounded by her loving family, from complications of Huntingtons disease.
She is lovingly remembered by her father, David Hodgson; stepmother, Susie Hodgson; sisters, Sarah Hodgson-Bock (David Bock) and Kate Hodgson; stepsiblings, Joseph Leck (Michelle Leck) and James Leck; and her sons, Antonio and Dominic Mondragon.
Emily was preceded in death by her mother, Paula (Wiedemann) Hodgson; her brother, John Hodgson; and her stepbrother, Robert Leck.
Emily was a graduate of Waubonsie High School and spent her life rooted in the communities of northern Illinois. Her early spiritual foundation began with her baptism at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church in Downers Grove. Later in life, she found fellowship and community at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Sandwich. Emily had a deep passion for women's soccer and practiced the discipline of Tai Kwan Do with her sons. These interests reflected her energetic spirit and commitment to strength and perseverance. She was also an enthusiastic supporter of Chicago sports, cheering faithfully for the White Sox and the Bears.
The family wishes to thank Vitas Hospice for their care and comfort provided to Emily.
