Eric Patrick Easterbrook, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2026. Born on June 20, 1983, in Lansing, Michigan, he was the son of Patrick and Judy (Stackman) Easterbrook.
Eric graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 2002 and went on to work in the cell tower business. He loved spending time at Houghton Lake, boating, fishing and smoking meat, and also cherished time in Fort Myers, Florida. He could often be found at one of his favorite places, the South Riley Tavern, surrounded by lifelong friends and "chosen" family.
Above all, Eric was a devoted father and took great pride in teaching his kids how to work on vehicles, hunt and fish, and loved listening to them excitedly tell their own stories. Being a dad was his greatest joy.
He was a big guy, with an even bigger heart, which made it easy for so many people to love him. Throughout his life, he was a friend to many and he was known for the connections he made with those around him. He was a loving son and a proud brother and uncle. His nieces adored him and lovingly called him "Ooke", a name he carried with pride.
Eric is survived by his children, Jayden (Tatum), Patrick & "bonus" son and daughter, Brayden Bunker and Belle Simpson; mother, Judy Easterbrook; sister, Jessica Boutwell (Jake); nieces and nephew, Emerson, Charleigh and Jack; and special friend, Hillary Jones.
He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Easterbrook; his grandparents Kip and Virginia Stackman and Max & Ellenor Easterbrook; and his uncle and aunt, Dale and Janet Coggins.
Eric's presence will be remembered by those who knew him, and his memory will live on through the stories, laughter, and moments shared with family and friends. Please join us for a celebration of life on Saturday, February 14th, 2026 at 12:00pm at the Riley Township Hall located at 7110 West Pratt Road in DeWitt.
