2025

Eric D. Miller, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on December 21, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him. Though his absence leaves a quiet space, his memory continues to shine gently in the hearts of all who knew him.

Born on February 17, 1945, to the late John "Jack" and Jane (Gage) Miller, Eric's life was marked by a generous spirit and a quiet strength. He built a life filled with loyalty, kindness, and deep care for those around him. Whether lending a helping hand, sharing a comforting word, or simply being present when it mattered most, Eric had a special way of making others feel valued and supported.

Eric proudly served his country in the United States Navy, a reflection of his sense of duty, commitment, and service to others. Following his military service, he devoted over 35 years to working with AT&T "Ma Bell" and its various branches, concluding his career in computer maintenance. He was grateful for the opportunities the company provided, including continuing his education.

In 2000, he and his beloved wife Dottie retired to their cozy country cottage in Promised Land, better known as the Tiltin' Hilton, where they enjoyed many joyful years together, welcoming friends and family, and tending to their projects and hobbies. Eric especially enjoyed his early morning walking promise land state park and enjoying his morning coffees with his buddies. Eric also had a great joy for tinkering in his garage with all sorts or projects.

Eric's greatest joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He shared an especially close bond with his granddaughter Macy, who held a very special place in his heart and was a constant source of pride and love.

He is lovingly survived by his brother, Kevin Miller (wife Sharon); his stepsons, Daniel R. Stiff (wife Susan Hoffman) of Catasauqua, PA, who cared for him in his final years, and Scott Stiff of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren Macy Fenstermaker (Dakota) and Andrew Gehringer (Amber); great-grandchildren Logan, Carter, Payton, and Kendyl Jane, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Dottie, and his sisters Jan Davenport and Jena Van Horn.

A celebration of Eric's life will be held at a later date, when we all can share stories of the man who touched their lives in so many meaningful ways.

"His life was a quiet blessing, and his memory will remain a gentle light in the hearts of those who loved him."
