Erma Jean Shannon (née Pemberton), age 88, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, in Spring Hill, Florida. Born on November 9, 1936, in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, Erma Jean lived a full and meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and adventure.
Throughout her life, Erma Jean was a devoted mother, wife, aunt, grandmother (10), great-grandmother (6), and friend of many. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ross Barth and Charles Shannon, as well as her beloved son James Shannon. Her memory lives on through those who loved her dearly.

She is survived by her daughters Kim Valentine of FL, Sheri Lucey (Giles), and Jill Patton (Chris) of Ohio; son Tom Shannon (Cynthia) of Colorado; Sister Jill Pemberton Day of Texas; Sister-in-law Joyce Miller of NC (Rusty); Ross' children Ellen Hromyko (Dan); Glenn Barth (Vicky); and Carolyn McCall (Jason). His brothers Bill Barth of OH; Tom Barth of FL.
