Ernestine Marie (Kosier) Weirich, known affectionately as Tina, 75, left her loved ones here in this realm to meet Jesus on January 5, 2026, in Toledo, OH. Born on August 5, 1950, Tina's life was marked by her vibrant personality and her commitment to her family and community.
Tina grew up in Toledo, OH and graduated from Sylvania High School. While still raising her family, she furthered her education by graduating with honors from the University of Toledo and earning a Master’s Degree from Bowling Green State University. She dedicated her career to helping others as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the Toledo and Northwest Ohio areas, where she touched many lives with her expertise and compassion.
A long-time member of Calvary Church, Tina dedicated nearly four decades to various church activities. She taught Sunday School, participated in the deaf ministry by signing worship songs, and supported local and overseas mission work. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her service and the love she shared with those around her.
Tina’s diverse interests were driven by her creative, adventurous and fun-loving spirit. In her younger years, she engaged in gymnastics, played softball, loved attending dances, rode and cared for horses, and played the violin. She also liked to knit, crochet, cook, bake, and sew for others and herself. Time spent with family and friends playing board games and cards, watching movies, exploring the outdoors, stargazing, attending concerts, and traveling filled her life with joy and laughter. Yet most of all, Tina cherished being a mom and Nana.
Tina was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Weirich; mother, Ruth Kosier; father, Robert Kosier; and grandson, Avery Fortinberry. She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories with her children, Julia (Jeffrey) Fortinberry, Heatherbea Weirich, Paul (Sharon) Weirich, and Tyler Weirich; grandchildren, Andrew Brown, Alex (Hannah) Fortinberry, Penelope Weirich, and Collin Weirich; great-grandchildren, Colton Fortinberry, Lucas Fortinberry, and Ethan Fortinberry; kitty babies, Raphael, Sweet One, and Lavender; and devoted pup-pup, King Darius the Great. Tina also leaves her siblings, Ruth (Phil) Anderson, Roberta Perry, Bert Kosier, and Wyiatt (Julie) Kosier; along with a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Tina's life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11AM at BridgePoint Church, located at 9875 Lewis Ave, Temperance, MI 48182. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed (www.atbridgepoint.org).
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Northwest Ohio in memory of Tina (www.hospicenwo.org) or to the family to assist with final expenses. Tina's distinctive whistle and unforgettable laugh will be missed by all who knew her.
