Eugene Lamar Bonner-Robinson

Eugene Lamar Bonner - Robinson ("DUTY"), 24, of Gary, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026. Eugene was born on July 6, 2001, to Schevon Bonner and Eugene Robinson in Gary Indiana at Methodist hospital. From an early age, Eugene faced health challenges that led to many hospital visits throughout his life. Despite this, he showed strength in his own way every day. Eugene had a unique and joyful spirit. He loved to chew on his favorite toys, make sounds that brought comfort to him and smiles to those around him, and spend time watching television. He also had a big love for food and enjoyed mealtime. Eugene will be remembered for his resilience, his gentle nature, and the special joy he brought to his family. Eugene is survived by his parents, Schevon Bonner and Eugene Robinson of Indianapolis, Indiana. He is also survived by his sisters, Aliya Kind of Lafayette, Indiana, and Elasha, Emarie, and Emonie Bonner of Gary, Indiana.
He leaves to cherish his memory his grandparents, Carmen Bonner-Jones of Aliceville, Alabama, and Austin Dennis and Phyllis Robinson of Gary, Indiana. He is also survived by his uncles, James Bonner Jr. of Lexington, Maryland; Detron Bonner of Gary, Indiana; Travis Moore of Detroit, Michigan; and his aunts, Angelique Clapton (Larry), Markisha Love (Dorrion), Darlene Clark (Vernon) and Shelia Pritchett. Eugene is further survived by his special cousins, Jay'von (Bishop) Bonner, Jocelyn and Jordan James of Gary, Indiana, and Detron Cason of Gary, Indiana; his nephew, De'Montae Hines Jr.; and his niece, Gabriel Patterson, along with a host of other relatives and loved ones. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 24, 2026 at McDuffie Funeral Home 1525 Broadway Gary, IN. Viewing 9:00AM-11:00AM with funeral immediately following at 11:00.
