Evelyn Rita Silvestri

Evelyn Silvestri (96 years old) of Sewell, NJ and formerly of Glassboro died peacefully in her home on February 2, 2026.

Evelyn Rita Silvestri (Corradetti) was born on February 8, 1929, in her childhood home in Glassboro, NJ. She was the daughter of Lena and Luigi Corradetti and a loving sister to Dominic, Geno and Louis. She attended school in Glassboro, and on September 3, 1949, married her high school sweetheart, John P. Silvestri. They were happily married for 47 years

Evelyn was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Friend. She is survived by her three children, John P. Silvestri, Jr (Ann), Donna Lucca (Michael) and Joanne Asterino (William); her six Grandchildren, John III (Holly), Daniel (Jessica), Elise (Dan), Laura Jean (Nick), Jennifer (Andrew) and William III (Amanda); twelve Great Grandchildren; brother-in-law, Anthony and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was a florist and co-owner of Dorothy's Flower Shop in Glassboro for 31 years before retiring in 1990. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bridget Church where she sang in the choir and was the soloist for numerous weddings. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters.

Above all, Evelyn cherished spending time with her family. She loved cooking large family dinners for her children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren - where all friends were always welcomed. She enjoyed the numerous family vacations to Italy, Disney World and the Islands as well as spending time with her family in Sea Isle City and Avalon.

Visitation will be held from 9:30am-11:00am on Wednesday, February 11th at St. Bridget University Parish, Glassboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Interment immediately following. Flowers are welcomed or donations in Evelyn's memory can be made to St. Bridget University Parish, 125 Church St., Glassboro, NJ, 08028.
