Felix Jorge ("Kiko") Garcia, 94, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on March 21, 2026, at his home in Key Biscayne, Florida. Born on July 26, 1931, in Havana, Cuba, to Felix Garcia Alonso and Dolores Morera Brito, Felix lived a remarkable life defined by resilience, dedication, and love for his family.

Felix received his early education at La Salle High School in Havana before pursuing higher education at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In 1955, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, a proud "Ramblin' Wreck" Yellow Jacket. His career as an engineer began at Shell in Havana, where, recognizing his managerial and interpersonal skills, the company sent him to London for two years to complete its executive training program.

His life took a dramatic turn in 1960 when he and his wife, Lilliam, fled Cuba's new Communist dictatorship as refugees. Despite losing everything, they rebuilt their lives in the United States with unwavering determination and hard work.

After arriving in New York City, Felix worked for Standard Brands before spending most of his career at the New Jersey headquarters of Warner-Lambert—now Pfizer. He rose to the position of Senior Vice President of International Manufacturing, overseeing the construction of manufacturing plants and technical operations worldwide—from North and South America to Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa, China, and India. He felt fortunate to have traveled extensively and instilled in his children a love of travel and a deep respect for diverse cultures.

His professional achievements were matched only by his devotion to his family. Felix is survived by his wife, Lilliam D. Garcia, his beloved partner of 66 years. Their relationship was the cornerstone of his life, and he always placed her above all else. Even in his final days, he remained focused on ensuring that Lilliam was well cared for.

Felix was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. His son, Dr. George A. Garcia, and daughter, Lillian J. Garcia, brought him great joy as they pursued careers as a physician and an attorney, respectively. He especially cherished his role as "Abuelito" to his grandchildren: Alexander and Matthew Garcia, and Madison and Isabella Mandell.

Felix loved living in Key Biscayne for the past 30 years, hosting family holidays and sharing adventures with friends at Grand Bay and the Key Biscayne Yacht Club. He relished his Thursday lunches with Club 87, a group comprised of boyhood friends and fellow Georgia Tech graduates—the name reflecting the average age of its members.

Felix's legacy is one of perseverance and love. As Cuban refugees who began anew in the United States, he and Lilliam exemplified resilience and the enduring strength of family bonds. All who were fortunate enough to share in Felix's life would agree: his joy was infectious. He was often the first on the dance floor, always with a big smile, a positive attitude, and a humorous story about pre-revolutionary Cuba at the ready.

May his memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know him and share in his remarkable journey.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 100 Harbor Drive, Key Biscayne, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1.
