It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Fletcher Mark Daniel Harris, who was tragically taken from us in a car accident on January 16, 2026. He was only 20 years old. Fletcher was born on May 21, 2005, in Saginaw, Michigan, and at the age of three moved with his family to Mooresville, North Carolina, where his roots deepened and his character began to shine. He was the oldest of four sons born to Mark and Meredith Harris, a role he embraced fully from the very beginning. Fletcher discovered soccer at the age of four, unaware that the beautiful game would become a lifelong passion. A natural goalkeeper, he played for several local clubs and consistently stood out not only for his talent, but for the way he elevated everyone around him. Coaches frequently noted his leadership, work ethic, and the lasting impact he had on teammates both on and off the pitch. Most recently, Fletcher played semi-professional soccer for Hickory FC, helping lead the team to a National Championship during the 2025 season, an achievement he was deeply proud of. He was a three-sport varsity athlete at Bandys High School in Catawba, North Carolina, earning letters in football, soccer, and track, and graduating with numerous academic honors in 2023. Fletcher went on to attend Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina, where he excelled as both a student and athlete, earning a place on the Dean's List every semester while pursuing a dual degree in Environmental Sustainability and Biology. Though still shaping his future, he spoke often about learning a trade, working for the National Forest Service, or serving his country in the U.S. military. Beyond his accomplishments, Fletcher's character defined him. He was intrinsically driven, deeply compassionate, and instinctively attentive to others—from volunteering as a buddy for children with developmental challenges, to mowing a disabled neighbor's yard, to quietly helping wherever help was needed. He took his role as the eldest brother seriously, mentoring and caring for Weston, Ripley, and Lincoln, and setting an example through love, responsibility, and presence. Fletcher was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, hiking, disc golf, fishing, and hunting, and was incredibly proud to have harvested his first buck just weeks before his passing. Within his family, he was affectionately known as the moral compass, teaching all of us—often without words—how to be good humans. He made time for his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, teammates, and coaches, ensuring people knew they mattered. Fletcher also knew deep love. He met Skylar while working a summer job waiting tables, and their connection was genuine and undeniable. He was clear in his intentions—Skylar was the one, and he envisioned a future with her. Fletcher was joy, light, energy, commitment, and purpose wrapped into one unforgettable human being. Anyone fortunate enough to know him felt it the moment he entered a room. Fletcher is survived by his parents, Mark and Meredith Harris; his brothers, Weston, Ripley, and Lincoln; and many extended family members, friends, teammates, and coaches who will carry his impact forward. His life was meaningful, his absence immeasurable, and his legacy enduring.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 22nd at 2:00pm at Williamson Chapel 575 Brawley School Rd. Mooresville NC 28117.
Family will receive guest immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
