Florence (Deramo) George. At the age of 95, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 1, 2026, in Cape Coral Hospital. Her beloved grandchildren were by her side as she departed this world with grace and peace.
Born on January 9, 1930, in Youngstown, Ohio, Florence—affectionately known as Flo—was the daughter of Damiano and Giovanna Deramo. She grew up in a family alongside her siblings Blanche Deramo, Eleanor Pica, and Tony Deramo.
In 1966, Flo married Peter George in Youngstown, Ohio. Together they built a life rooted in love and shared ambition. The couple opened their own business, Ambriola's in Warren, Ohio—a venture that reflected their dedication and entrepreneurial spirit. After selling the business, they made their way to Cape Coral, Florida, where Flo would reside for the next 54 years.
Flo was a hardworking and devoted professional who managed a local 7-Eleven store for an impressive 37 years. Her commitment to excellence earned her numerous awards and the admiration of colleagues and customers alike. Even after retiring from her long career as a manger, Flo continued to give back to her community by volunteering at Cape Coral Hospital—a role she cherished deeply as it allowed her to help others.
Family was central to Flo's life. She is lovingly remembered by her son Daniel Deramo; grandchildren Kim (Deramo) Scott Starling, Jeff George (also her caretaker), Great granddaughter Breanna Huff; great grandsons Nicholas Evans and Nolan Evans stepdaughters Virginia Probst and Mary George; step-granddaughter Rene Probst; -great great grandchildren Madelyn and Kayden; and several nieces and nephews. Though she endured the loss of her husband Peter George; granddaughter Cassandra (Deramo) Sanson; parents Damiano and Giovanna Deramo; sisters Blanche Deramo and Eleanor Pica; and brother Tony Deramo—her memory lives on through those who knew and loved her.
Flo's warmth, resilience, and unwavering dedication touched many lives throughout her journey. Whether managing a bustling store or offering comfort as a hospital volunteer, she brought kindness and strength to every role she embraced.
