Frances Barben, age 72, passed away on December 29, 2025, in West Jordan, Utah. Born on February 23, 1953, in the same city she called home throughout her life, Frances left a legacy of compassion and dedication that touched many.
A proud graduate of Jordan High School, Frances pursued her passion for helping others by earning her Registered Nurse certification from the University of Utah. Her career as a nurse was marked by excellence and heartfelt commitment to those in her care. Frances was known for the deep empathy she showed her patients and the professionalism she brought to every aspect of her work.
Frances married Dayle Groberg on June 22, 1990. They later divorced.
Frances is lovingly remembered by her son, Derik Groberg; step-daughters Hilari (Jason) Robinson of Taylorsville, Utah, and Lindi (Scott) Christensen of Taylorsville, Utah; Kent (Pat) Barben of Layton, Utah; Lynn (Robin) Barben of Tracy, California; Joan (Brad) Edgeington of Taylorsville, Utah; and Scott (Lisa) Barben of Sandy, Utah. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Barben, and mother, Barbara Wilhelmsen.
Frances was part of a large extended family who cared deeply for her. Her presence will be missed by all who knew her.
