With love and remembrance, we share that Frances Kolman passed away on January 3rd, 2026 at the age of 87.
Born in Chicago, IL on December 20, 1938, to Gladys and Joe Murray, Fran, a classic beauty, brought love and kindness to everyone she knew. From her passion for movies and music to lipstick and necklaces, Fran appreciated the finer things in life, and had a joie de vivre matched by none. She would often affectionately tell her children, and especially her grandchildren, "Whatever your little heart desires!" This joy for life was complemented by her immense sense of humor when dealing with anything that came her way.
She was the devoted wife of Milton Kolman and loving mother to Mora (Michael), Beth (Michael) and Rich. She was a cherished grandmother to Samantha Sacks, Madeline Sacks, the late Cole Wexler, Cami Wexler, Myles Wexler, Thyme Kolman, and Grey Kolman, a beloved sister to Frank Murray, a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a devoted friend to many.
After a private family graveside service, a celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 6th at 4:30 pm at Hometown Coffee event space upstairs in Glencoe at 700 Vernon Ave, Glencoe, IL, 60022. The family respectfully requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, Virginia 22116-7023, www.diabetes.org.
