Frances Louise Nicol, 86 of Farmington Hills Michigan, passed away peacefully September 28, 2025 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Frances was the only child of Walter and Mary (Brodie) Gloster. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 25th, 1939. A 1957 graduate of Western High School in Detroit, she was a member of the Westernairs choir group and also played piano.
After high school, she attended Wayne State University where, in 1963, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education and was a member of the Women's Glee Club. She went on to teach music at Frost Middle School in Livonia.
In 1963 she married Neal Nicol. They moved to Linden, Michigan in 1969 and welcomed two children, Colleen (Greg) Abb and Eric (Nyree Rapley) Nicol. Frances also has two beloved grandchildren, Devin (Courtney) Abb and Morgan Abb.
Her later career days found successes in sales from Avon to durable medical equipment. A quick smile and always-polished style was something that will not soon be forgotten.
She was passionate about reading, painting, embroidery and most anything crafty.
She made friends easily and was always there to lend a shoulder or a listening ear. She will be missed by all that were fortunate to travel alongside her.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 22 at 11am with visitation beforehand beginning at 10am at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. 12 Mile Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48334
In lieu of flowers donations to either of the following would be most appreciated.
