Frances Melissa Odom, lovingly known as Melissa, passed away at the age of 47, on January 28, 2026. Born on November 15, 1978, in Anchorage, Alaska. Melissa later moved with her family to Augusta, Georgia in the early 1980s, where she built a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family.
Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Odom; her brother, Charles Odom; and her nephew, Thomas Lucree.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Julie Best Hale; her beloved partner, Marshall Timmerman; her children, Gabriella Odom, Amy Fraraccio, Julie Odom, Nevaeh Odom, Zachery Odom, and Olivia Lyttle; and her treasured grandchildren, Jorden Odom, Analeigh Jones, William Jones, Jaedyn Odom, Azahlee Odom, Darius Trammell Jr., Leanna Odom and Cohen Tanguay.
Melissa is also survived by her sisters, Virginia Watson and Angela Odom, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Melissa loved the Lord and loved her family with her whole heart. Her greatest passion in life was being a mother and a nana. She never gave up, no matter the distance or the circumstances. She was a nana to many, even to those not related by blood, because her love knew no limits.
Melissa found joy in bringing her family together—whether it was cheering at ball games, roasting marshmallows on warm summer nights, or spending rainy days watching movies with snacks. Her favorite moments were the simple ones, surrounded by those she loved most.
One of her greatest joys was arts and crafts days. She loved all things sparkle, every shade of purple, and the excitement of creating memories with her children and grandchildren.
Melissa was not perfect, as none of us are, but she loved unconditionally. No matter who you were, what you had been through, or where you came from, she welcomed you with open arms. She loved all, and all that knew Melissa, loved her.
This is not “goodbye,” but rather, “see you soon, Mama.” May her mind and soul finally be at peace until the day we are reunited again. We will miss you down here.
In the name and in the blood of Jesus Christ, Amen.
