Francis (Bud) L. Guiberson passed away surrounded by family on January 3, 2026. He was 85 years old.

He was born and raised in Anaconda, Montana, the son of Francis Earl Guiberson and Ann Julia Dillon. He had an enduring love for his grandmother, Bridget Kilgallen Dillon, and held many fond memories and stories of his classmates from grade school through high school.

He served in the United States Air Force for 27 years, retiring at the rank of Colonel, and worked as a meteorologist.

He enjoyed playing golf, fly fishing, riding his bike, reading, taking walks in the neighborhood, and coaching his children’s soccer teams when they were young. His faith was an important part of his life, and he attended daily Mass.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Groesch Guiberson, and his children, Patrick, Ann, Brian, Ken, and Mark. He is survived by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings, Gene Guiberson, Joe Guiberson, Ray Guiberson, Donnie Guiberson, Ree Guiberson Stevenson, and Tim Guiberson. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mick Guiberson and Beth Guiberson Good.

A Mass will be said in his memory at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 18, at Saint Peter Church in Anaconda, Montana. A military honors ceremony will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. on January 20 in Denver, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Peter Church, 217 West Pennsylvania Avenue, Anaconda, Montana 59711. Prayers are welcome.
