Francis Cassat

1960 - 2026

Francis Raymond "Winky" Cassat Jr., 65, of Hampton, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 2, 1960, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Frank lived a life full of love, dedication, and passion.

Frank proudly served his country as a Boatswain's Mate in the United States Navy before retiring. His time in the Navy reflected his hardworking nature and deep connection to the ocean—a place he cherished throughout his life. After his military service, Frank continued to embody the values of diligence and resilience that defined him.

A man of many talents and interests, Frank found joy in rebuilding cars, painting, fishing, and listening to music. These hobbies were not just pastimes but reflections of his creative spirit and hands-on approach to life. Whether he was working on a car or casting a line into the water, Frank brought enthusiasm and care to everything he did.

Above all else, Frank loved his family deeply. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Michelle—his "LadyBug"—and a proud father to his daughters Gabreilla, Brittinie, and Regina. He adored his granddaughters Dakota(she called him Pawpaw) and Montana (who is sadly did not get to meet before his passing) but treasured every moment, call and photo spent with them. Frank's love extended to his father, sisters, and uncle as well; he held each family member close to his heart.

Frank’s happy demeanor and unwavering dedication left an indelible mark on those who knew him. His family remembers him as an amazing husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose presence brought light into their lives.

Frank will be profoundly missed by his wife Michelle; his daughters Gabreilla, Brittinie, and Regina; granddaughters Dakota and Montana; his father; sisters; uncle; and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May Francis Raymond "Winky" Cassat Jr.'s memory bring comfort to those who loved him. His legacy of love and strength will live on in their hearts forever.
