Francis "Frank" Femiano, of Aurora, Illinois, passed away on November 9, 2025, in Cape Coral, Florida, at the age of 74. Born on May 25, 1951, to Joyce and Francis Femiano, Frank grew up with a deep appreciation for creativity, craftsmanship, and humor—qualities he carried with him throughout his life.
Frank had a lifelong passion for acting, songwriting, and poetry. His great sense of humor and easygoing nature made him a friend to everyone he met. He loved people, loved conversation, and had a gift for bringing levity and connection wherever he went.
A proud Vietnam-era veteran, Frank later spent much of the 1990s working in downtown Chicago as a member of the Theatrical Stagehands, Local 2. His work across major Chicago venues allowed him to be part of the vibrant and evolving world of entertainment production—something that perfectly suited his creative spirit.
Frank was also an avid craftsman. He poured countless hours into building beautiful furniture for his family and friends, creating pieces that will continue to tell his story for generations. He loved Tom Waits, good bourbon, and his favorite saying—one that perfectly captured his playful humor—"You can lead a horse to water, but it doesn't make it a duck."
After retiring, Frank embraced life in Cape Coral, where he enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and the sunshine. His dogs, Lisa and Fuego, were loyal companions and constant sources of joy. Above all, Frank was someone who would help anyone, anytime. His work ethic, kindness, and generosity defined him.
Frank is survived by his three children, Nathaniel(Katherine), Kathryn(David) and Rebecca(Vince) and five grandchildren, Ethan, Payton, Isabella, Emilia and Celina who adored him. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Laurel Femiano, as well as his parents.
Frank's legacy is one of warmth, humor, creativity, and love—qualities that will live on in the many lives he touched.
