BROERMAN, Frank P., 95 of Tipp City Ohio died on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 12:55 a.m. at Ohio’s Hospice Miami County, in Troy. He was born on January 6, 1931, in Yorkshire, Ohio, to the late Fred and Christine (Spoltman) Broerman. On October 13, 1956, he married Doris (Marlene) Fisher of Blanchester, Ohio who preceded him in death. Surviving are his children, Fred (Allison) of Bethel, Alaska; James of Safety Harbor, Florida; Mary (Robert) Purcell of Seffner, Florida; Paul [deceased] (Amy) of Troy, Ohio; and Edward [deceased]; 9 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were siblings Louise Shadely, Lawrence, Leo, Alvera Arling, Dorthy Wuebker, Alfred, and Carl. He is also survived by his sweetheart of eight years Mary Boram.
He graduated in 1949 from Fort Laramie High School. After high school he enrolled at Kelly Barber College in Columbus, Ohio. He was drafted in the Army and served for 2 years. He served for 13 months in Korea, and advanced to the grade of Sergeant First Class and headed the classification and assignment section for the 223rd Regimental Headquarters of the 40th Infantry Division. For over 50 years he was a regular donor of the Community Blood Center of Dayton Ohio and donated over 240 pints of blood in his lifetime. He was an avid bicycle rider and participated in over 10 Great Ohio Bicycle Adventures (GOBAs) sponsored by Bob Evan’s Restaurants annually, riding 300 miles within a week each year. He met and had many lifetime friends as a barber and hairstylist for over 70 years. He always had time to give someone a quick trim.
Frank and Marlene loved to travel and visited in every state of the U.S. including Alaska and Hawaii. They also traveled to Europe, Canada (including Nova Scotia), Mexico and Ireland. At 74, he and his 4 sons and oldest grandson Matthew, did a trip to Arizona to hike and camp the Grand Canyon down to the Colorado River and back up. A trip of a lifetime. He also loved boating and water skiing at Lake Cumberland in Kentucky with his family for over 25 years. He could get up on a slalom ski at 77 years of age. He had numerous high school friends he kept in touch with spending the winters in the sun of Florida. He was also a charter member of Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Huber Heights. There will be memorial mass at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 753 S. Hyatt Street, Tipp City, Ohio with a meal to follow at the church. Please feel free to join family and friends for the mass and/or the meal which will start at approximately noon.
