Frank Samuel Button Jr.

1941 - 2026

Frank Samuel Button, Jr. passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the age of 84. Frank was born September 1, 1941, in Peewee Valley, Kentucky to Frank Samuel Button, Sr. and Mary (Griner) Button.
Frank was the son of a dairy farmer and learned the value of hard work and dependability at an early age. He participated in ROTC in college and served his country faithfully in the US Army. He attended the University of Kentucky, earning both bachelor's and master's degrees and spent the majority of his career working for the university's agriculture department. In this capacity, he mentored many graduate students and managed the UK dairy for over 30 years. He lovingly called the dairy cows his "girls."
He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Reasor, June 15, 1963. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple in Utah and were married for 62 years. His family and love for God were the most important things in his life. He served faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in many leadership positions. He loved his country. He often wore a flag pin on his lapel at church and always wore patriotic ties and socks to church in July. He loved spending time with Linda, his children, and his grandchildren. He found joy in simple pleasures like the first daffodils each spring, homemade ice cream, spending time on his farm, and watching UK basketball games. He is beloved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda, and his parents. Frank is survived by his children: a son, Kevin Button, 4 daughters, Laura Whitlow (Tom), Amy Enke (Aaron), Julie Moeller (Ted), and Bethany Moore (Brad); his siblings: Robert Button, John Button (Leslie), Marie Kraig (Joseph), and Steven Button (Tracy); 20 grandchildren: Lindsey, Megan, Katie, Matthew, Emma, Geoffrey, Abbey, Samuel, Jake, Hayden, Lauren, Macey, Mia, Tate, Garett, Marissa, Shelby, Nate, Riley, and Bella; and 5 great grandchildren: Teddy, Ellie, Alex, Merrick, Dawson, and one on the way.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 9:00 AM, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1310 Cave Mill Road, Bowling Green, KY. He will be laid to rest at the Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, Kentucky beside his dear wife, Linda.
