Frank Lewis Fowler lived a courageous life marked by resilience and love for family and friends. Despite physical challenges, he achieved various personal and professional milestones while nurturing strong bonds with friends and loved ones.

Born in 1955, Frank was educated in Utah, graduated from Viewmont High School in 1974, attended Southern Utah State and earned an associate's degree from Salt Lake Community College. He developed skills in plumbing and welding during his youth. He worked as a database and systems analyst at the University of Utah, was enticed to Western Governors University for a brief period but returned to and retired from the University of Utah.

Frank was an outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed hiking, camping, and hunting, continuing these activities even after a debilitating accident in 1983, and relishing camping trips with his friends to Boulder Mountain. He cherished fishing and camping trips with his family across Utah and deep-sea fishing excursions in British Columbia and Mexico, sharing these experiences with his sons in later years. He maintained a membership in the Bountiful Elks Lodge for years.

Frank married his junior high sweetheart, Debra Dixon, in 1995 and was a devoted father to their three sons, actively supporting their scouting, sports, and church activities.

A resolute Pinewood Derby enthusiast, Frank assisted others in building and shaping their cars, held workshops on tool safety for the young cub scouts, and competed at state and national levels himself until his health declined.

Known for his generous Sunday breakfasts and dinners, Frank was a skilled cook famous for battered and deep-fried halibut and other family favorites, often feeding many guests.

Despite health limitations, Frank found joy in family vacations and treasured the excitement of his grandchildren's adventures and stories of Disneyland, and playing in the waters and on sandy beaches in St. Croix and St. Thomas.

Known by affectionate nicknames The Mongoose, Egghead, POP, and the Bank of Frank, he was recognized by his distinctive beard and hair. He was generous, humorous, and supportive, with a fondness for collecting Zippo lighters, eating sweets and pastries, and watching television, particularly SYFY, westerns, Marvel movies, and the History Channel.

Frank passed away peacefully on 16 December 2025 after 42 years of health struggles. He is survived by his wife, Debra; sons Jake (Marianne Naylor), and Jason (Hanna Lynn) Holmes; grandchildren: Carson, Dallas, Brighton, Sawyer, Elijah, Kinsley, Cruz, Dash, and Paisley Holmes. He loved these precious gifts from Heaven more than anything!

Siblings: Mary Lou (Clay Robinson); Mindy Twibey; Holly (Michael) Lloyd; Chris (Paul) Moon; James (Danielle) and Bill (Starr) Fowler; the Dixon brothers and sisters whom he adored; Aunt Diane Poulsen Titze, many nieces and nephews, and extended family. Preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Mary Ione Poulsen Fowler; son Jared Holmes, and many friends who left this earthly life too soon.

Frank wished to be cremated with burial in Bountiful, Utah, and a future Celebration of Life in 2026. His family encourages hugs, kindness, and cherishing friends and loved ones not only during this holiday season, but always. Hold them a little tighter and a little longer. Tomorrow may never come.
