Frank W. Goorsky

1947 - 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frank W. Goorsky III ("Chip"), 79, of Huntley, Illinois, formerly of Chicago and Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Frank was born on February 20, 1947, in Chicago and left us on March 13, 2026.

Son of the late Frank W. Goorsky Jr. and Mildred Goorsky, Frank grew up on the northwest side of Chicago in a large, lively family. Frank, known as "Chip" to so many, was a team player throughout his life. He played football at Kelvin Park High School, Western Michigan University, and with the Chicagoland Football League Gladiators. He excelled in mentoring others and later became a coach for the Arlington Cowboys.

In May 1970, Frank married his high school sweetheart, Pamela Armstrong. Frank and Pam had two children and raised their fun-loving family in Arlington Heights, where Frank was involved in the community and many of his children's activities. This included coaching his son's youth football teams and attending his daughter's dancing competitions and performances. You could always find Frank in the audience with the largest VHS video camera.

Frank was a friendly and charismatic guy. He lived his life with integrity, kindness, and accountability. He took pride in being a good father. He was loving, patient, supportive, and fun. He taught his children good values and to live life to the fullest.

He spent much of his career working in the food industry, including Good Humor Ice Cream and more than 25 years at E. J. Brach and Sons Candy Company in Chicago, where he established many lifelong friendships.

Frank was a devoted family man who cherished his family vacations to Boyd's Resort in the Northwoods every summer and his hunt for the elusive giant musky. Frank and Pam remained lifelong friends with their high school "KP group" and treasured many life events and celebrations as they raised their families together.

In 2020, Frank and Pam relocated to Huntley and have enjoyed being closer to old companions and meeting many new wonderful friends and neighbors.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Keith Goorsky and Ronald Goorsky. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pam Goorsky, son Dan (Chris) Goorsky, daughter Jill Luesing, adored grandson Connor Goorsky, brother Robert Goorsky, sister Laurel Austermuehle, sister-in-law Alice Goorsky, his fourth Golden Retriever Tully, and three granddogs Dusty, Strider, and Finnegan, along with many family and friends who will miss his smile and witty comebacks.

A celebration of Frank's life is being planned. Details will be shared soon. Donations can be made to As Good as Gold Golden Retriever Rescue of Illinois (www.asgoodasgold.org) or Addus Hope Foundation/JourneyCare Hospice Foundation (https://journeycare.org/donate).
