Frank Szoldatits

Frank T. Szoldatits (February 23, 1964-February 17, 2026)

Frank Szoldatits was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, the ever-devoted spouse of Michelle Szoldatits (Teitlus), the son of Frank Szoldatits and Pauline Szoldatits (Handler), the younger brother of Valerie Smith, and uncle to Jillian Smith and Lisa Scudder (Jim). Frank was also the proud father to Mason Szoldatits (Jamie) and a beloved friend to many.

Frank was an incredible man, celebrated for his empathetic and patient nature, sense of humor, and candor. His affection and dedication to his wife, son, and daughter-in-law were clear to all.

Frank and Michelle were fortunate enough to travel, visiting Europe, Mexico, Canada, the U.S. Virgin Islands, annual visits to Door County, and a different local eatery every weekend. Beyond travel, Frank found joy in woodworking, fishing, and home remodeling, the latter of which he pursued in two Illinois homes and one Michigan home, all to ensure Michelle had the regal abode she deserved. Frank was legendary in his ability for fixing anything, building anything, and engaging in conversation with anyone. Second only to his handyman skills, he mastered the art of Sunday breakfasts at home and the Bloody Mary.

Frank is preceded in death by his father, Frank Szoldatits, mother, Pauline Szoldatits (Handler), and brothers-in-law, Rick Smith and John McGrail.

Frank’s final wishes were to be remembered without a mass, wake, or service. In lieu of flowers or gifts, his family kindly requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
