Frederick A. Robertson III, 93, of Twenty-Nine Palms, CA. went to be with God on 21 Oct 2025. He was born 4 June 1932 in New Haven, CT. He is the son of Frederick A. Robertson II and Mildred (Slocumb) Robertson. Fred graduated from Edgewood High School in San Antonio, TX. Following graduation, Fred enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He is a recipient of the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in Korea. His career in the Marine Corps spanned for 30 years and culminated as the Base Sergeant Major in 1981 at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twenty-Nine Palms, CA. After retiring from active duty, he served 28 years with the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, TX. as an Instructor, Provost Marshal and boxing coach. Fred loved being a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and US Marine. He further enjoyed playing golf, boxing and was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sons, Rusty Robertson and Kelly Robertson; two sisters, Louise (Terry) Gutz and Lois Wright. He was a loving and fully devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Fred and his wife, Delores (Gain) Robertson, celebrated 62 years of marriage in Feb. He is survived by his loving wife and 4 children, Greg Robertson, Sandra Feldman, Tamara Candelaria and Karen Luckman; 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, 8 Dec 2025 at 1 P.M. at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA. Full military honors will accompany his service.
