Gale was born in Pueblo, CO to Charles C. and Dora R. Johnson on October 29th, 1932. He was a proud Bulldog of Centennial High School. He went on to graduate from Pueblo Jr. College and completed a degree in Education from UNC. He spent 2 years in the U.S. Army, where he was in the Army Security Agency and spent 1 year in Korea. His position was intercepting enemy radio messages. Upon his honorable discharge, he pursued a higher education and received his Master's Degree at UNC. He taught Industrial Auto in Connecticut for 2 years, where he also owned a boat and got his pilot's license. Upon returning to Colorado, he taught 5th grade at Thornton Elementary and Eastlake, then became principal at Thornton Elementary. After 6 years, he opened a new school, Stukey Elementary, in 1967 until he retired in 1988.
Married to Joan Howard in 1961, they were blessed with two wonderful children, Erik and Krisitin, and 3 spectacular grandchildren, Otto, Sam, and Brooke.
The service for Gale Johnson will be held March 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. It will be held at Northglenn United Methodist Church.
