Garry Slaughter passed away unexpectedly in February 2026. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Garry had a lifelong love of sports and was a devoted fan of the Golden State Warriors and the San Francisco Giants. He played football in high school and later enjoyed playing softball. He worked for UPS for over four years and valued the friendships he built there. Garry was known for his loyalty, his sense of humor, and the connections he made throughout his life, especially within the San Mateo and Woodlake community.

He is survived by his mother, Edith Brown; his stepfather, Jim Brown; his brother, Steve Slaughter; his sister in law, Kari Slaughter; his nieces, Paige Slaughter and her husband, Cooper Means, and Marlee Slaughter and her fiancé, Jake Rose; his stepsister, Debbie Malloy, and her husband, Mark Malloy; his uncle, Mike Slaughter, and his wife, Bobbie Slaughter; Karen Slaughter; and Ashley Davis, along with many extended family members and friends who loved him.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 6 at 4:00 PM at Sneider & Sullivan & O’Connell’s Funeral Home in San Mateo. Visitation will be available from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM for those who wish to pay their respects. A Celebration of Life will follow from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the San Mateo Elks Lodge
