Gary Joe Geldseth
July 25, 1956 – February 3, 2026
Gary age 69, passed away in Kent, Washington, the place he called home.
Born in Seattle, Gary was a man of few words and steady resolve. A fixture at Boeing for over 40 years, his career was defined by the same reliability he gave to his family. In his prime, he spent his weekends sharing his knowledge of the United Fighting Arts Federation style, teaching friends with a disciplined strength that mirrored his own character.
Gary was happiest in motion. Whether he was carving through snow on his skis, sailing, fishing, or spending hours in the garage restoring and riding motorcycles, he found peace in the work of his hands. He was a man of unmistakable, rugged style—rarely seen without a short-billed hat, a leather jacket or vest, and his signature sleeveless shirts that showcased the tattoos he collected over the years. With a toothpick often in hand, he moved through the world with a quiet, observant confidence.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Fernandez-Geldseth; his children, Tyson (Amanda) and Casey (Brittney) Geldseth, and Mecha and Jacob (Marissa) Ghormley; and his grandchildren, Freyja and Carter Geldseth, Uriah, Elijah, and Sophia Ghormley. Gary was a devoted husband, father, and the unquestioned patriarch of his family. He led not through words, but through consistency, responsibility, and showing up when it mattered.
To those who knew him, Gary will be remembered as dependable and quietly steadfast. Beyond his family, he made a lasting impact within his AA community, helping many through his integrity and example. His legacy lives on in the family he built and the strength he passed down to them.
