Gary King, 76, of Lantana, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025. Born on August 15, 1949, in Southampton, Massachusetts, Gary lived a life filled with music, laughter, faith, and deep devotion to his family.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves, Gary served his country with honor and continued to serve his community throughout his life. A devout servant of Christ, he was a longtime member and organist at Lakeside Methodist Church in Lake Worth, Florida. His music was not only a gift to his congregation but also reached many through his YouTube channel, where he shared his passion for the organ with a devoted following.
Gary's love for music was matched only by his love for family. Known affectionately as "Papa," he brought joy and humor into every room he entered. He had an infectious sense of fun and was quite the jokester—always ready with a witty remark or playful tease that left others smiling. His favorite indulgences were anything chocolate and cherry pies, which he enjoyed with the same enthusiasm he brought to every aspect of life.
He found great joy in building furniture by hand—especially for his beloved wife Patsy King, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage before her passing. Their bond was one of enduring love and mutual support.
Gary is survived by his sister Deanna J. King; daughters Sandra King Sousa, April L. King, and Robin Achee; son Dennis King; granddaughter Emily A. King; grandson Ethan Achee; and great-granddaughter Iris Mae Caswell. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife Patsy King; brother Jay Alan King; father Alan Joseph King; and mother Myrtle Hall King.
His legacy lives on through the music he created, the furniture he built with love, and the memories held dear by those who knew him best. Whether playing his triple-decker organ or spending time with his grandchildren—whom he adored—Gary brought light and strength to those around him.
May his memory bring comfort to all who were touched by his warmth, humor, and unwavering faith.
