Gary Robert LaBombard

1944 - 2026

Gary Robert LaBombard, born on May 14, 1944, at Noble Hospital in Westfield, Massachusetts, passed away on March 22, 2026, in Deltona, Florida.

Gary was raised in Russell, Massachusetts, where he built the foundation of a life defined by dedication, humor, and love for family.

He was the son of the late Frank and Esther LaBombard. He was predeceased by his brothers, Frank and Daniel LaBombard, and is survived by his sister, Sandra Corker, and her husband, Raymond Corker.

He is lovingly remembered by his two children, Jason LaBombard and Jeaneane LaBombard, who were the center of his world. He was married to Lynne LaBombard for 20 years, and though their marriage ended, they remained extremely close, sharing a lifelong bond of friendship and respect.

Gary graduated from Westfield Trade School in 1962 with a diploma in machining. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1968, working in engine rooms aboard the U.S.S. Amphion, U.S.S. Jamestown, and U.S.S. Canisteo. During his service, he was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Dominican Republic) and the National Defense Service Medal (Vietnam War). He was immensely talented and, whether called upon to be an electrician, plumber, carpenter, or ace mechanic, he wore all hats with equal ease—something he did often and enthusiastically for the sake of his family.

Gary had a deep love for Maine, especially Rome, where he spent many cherished years. He enjoyed gardening, boating on Lake Ontario, and spending time outdoors. He also had a passion for classic cars—especially Fords—as well as animals, baseball, and making memories with his family, whether on trips to Disney World or at home making fresh popcorn and watching movies.

Known for his wit and wonderful sense of humor, Gary brought laughter and warmth to those around him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
