Georganna Helal Wellman

Georganna H. Wellman, 83, passed away on March 15, 2026 in Louisville, Kentucky. Born and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia, Georganna spent most of her adult life in Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Leo G. Helal, her brother Leo H. Helal, and her dear husband of 24 years, Jerry Wellman. She is survived by her son, Bradley Stevenson (Michelle), her sister Barbara Boucher, her brother Ted Helal (Becky), her grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

After retiring from a long career as an administrative assistant in the federal court system, Georganna enjoyed serving as an usher at Nationwide Arena, cheering on the Columbus Blue Jackets and attending concerts. She loved her many dogs over the course of her life, keeping a clean home, dancing to lively music, cooking and baking for family and friends, and all things outdoors, especially her carefully tended flowers and garden.

A memorial service is being planned by the family for later this year through Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home in Worthington, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your local humane society.
