George John DeSantis III, 66, of Mount Vernon, NY, died of natural causes on January 31, 2026. Born on November 1, 1959, George dedicated over three decades of his life to the Mount Vernon Water Department before retiring in 2020. He was a beloved figure in the community commonly known as Jerrylee, and well known for his infectious sense of humor and array of nicknames for everyone.

George is preceded in death by his parents, George and Nancy DeSantis. He is survived by his two daughters and two sons: Ailyn and her husband, Justin, along with their children Justin, Ryan, and Jasper; Monise and her husband, Anthony, along with their children Emily, Juliette, and Jacob; Jason and his wife, Bethani, along with their children Connor, Leilani, Grant, and Tyler; and Michael and his wife, Alexandria, along with their daughter, Aiyla.

Educated at Sacred Heart School in Mount Vernon and Mount Saint Michael Academy in the Bronx, George carried the values of his upbringing throughout his life, touching everyone he met with his witty and caring nature.

In accordance with his last wishes, George was cremated and his remains were placed alongside his parents. He requested no memorial service.

He lived and died by the phrase, "Can't kill rock and roll!" He was a wild spirit and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
