George Godfrey

1971 - 2025

George William Godfrey passed away on November 12, 2025, in Los Angeles, California, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was 54 years old. His illness was attributed by the VA to exposure to burn pits during his military service in Operation Desert Storm. His family and friends addressed him by his middle name, William.

Born on May 13, 1971, in Los Angeles, William spent his childhood in Simi Valley. William proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and was an Operation Desert Storm combat veteran. He pursued higher education with dedication and purpose, earning both a Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology. These academic achievements reflected his deep commitment to understanding and helping others.

For over three decades, William shared a devoted partnership with his wife Danielle. Married for 31 years, they built a life filled with love, family, and shared adventures. He was a proud father to Jonathan, Donovan, Sydney, and Sybil, and found immense joy in being a grandfather to three grandchildren.

William had an insatiable curiosity and zest for life. He enjoyed adventure and embraced every opportunity to learn something new. His hobbies were as varied as they were numerous—surfing along the California coast, bike riding through city streets or mountain trails, sailing open waters with confidence and calm, and tending lovingly to his garden. Each pursuit reflected different facets of his personality: boldness, serenity, creativity, and care.

Those who knew William remember him as someone who lived fully—who sought out meaning in every experience and connection. His legacy is one of service, love for family, intellectual passion, and an enduring spirit of exploration.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well lived.

A private memorial service was held for family. In keeping with William's wishes, there was no public service.
