George D. Mahler

1952 - 2026

Our beloved George D. Mahler age 73 departed this life on April 17, 2026. He was born on June 11, 1952.

George loved to work on vehicles, go to car shows, and collect old car and gas station antiques. He also enjoyed restoring antique cars from the 50’s.

George was a master mechanic, repairing any type of vehicle from a car to a fire truck. George and his family started with a little shop called Quality Automotive around 1980, and around 1986 they built the large repair shop, “Mahler’s Truck and Auto Repair.”

George was known for his integrity and kindness. He loved to joke with everyone and make people laugh. He was a great story teller and the life of the party.

George was an amazing, loving Father. He worked hard so that he could be an excellent provider to his kids. George raised his children to help at the shop after school and took them to the lake to ski on the weekends. In recent years, George enjoyed going to car shows, restaurants and spending quality time at his shop.

George was preceded in death by his parents George and Mary Devine-Mahler and cousins Jeanie Devine and Willy Devine.

George is survived by his wife of one year, Suzanne Hager-Mahler, his children: Jamie Mahler and Dana Mahler, his siblings: Minnie Katherine Mahler, Diane (Richard) Covert, and William Mahler.

George is an Uncle to Richard Covert Jr., Robert Covert, and Jill Mahler-Hagen. He is also survived by his Aunt Norma Devine-Anderson and cousins: Pat (Henry) Mahler-Vagher, Nancy Devine-Besand, Judy Devine-Hatfield, and Jamie Devine-Ruder, and Jennifer Devine.

George is also survived by numerous other cousins and relatives.

George had a huge impact in people’s lives and will be deeply missed by his children, family, and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life, at a later date. We hope that everyone who was close to George can make it to this Celebration of Life to share stories and cherished memories.

George will be forever missed.
