George Andrew Pitt, a talented artist and photographer, passed away on March 28, 2026, in Escondido, California. Born on October 8, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, George lived a life enriched by creativity and dedication to his craft.

From an early age, George demonstrated an extraordinary artistic talent. His passion for art was recognized during his high school years when he won a prestigious contest that earned him a place at the Art Institute of Chicago. This achievement marked the beginning of a lifelong journey in the arts. After relocating to Hollywood later in life, George continued to explore his artistic vision through oil and acrylic painting. His work captured the imagination of many and reflected his deep commitment to his craft. In addition to painting, George found success as a photographer, further showcasing his ability to see beauty and meaning through multiple mediums.

George's faith played an important role during his youth. He practiced at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Kenilworth, Illinois, where he also served as an acolyte. These early experiences shaped his values and left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Although George never married, he shared close bonds with his family. He is survived by his brother Drew Pitt; sister-in-law Susie Pitt; nieces Kimberly Best and Madeleine Pitt; and nephews Christian Pitt and Michael Pitt Jr. He was predeceased by his parents, Betty and Andrew Pitt of Winnetka, Illinois, and Rancho Bernardo, California; as well as his brother Michael A. Pitt of Lake Forest, Illinois, and Rancho Santa Fe, California, who passed away in 2018.
