George Edward Pollreisz, 77, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026.

Born on June 27, 1948, George dedicated much of his life to hard work and service. He spent 32 years at Diggs Meat Packing Plant, followed by a year with Rost Landscaping, and later served for 12 years on the Grounds Team for Columbia Public Schools until his retirement in 2018.

A man of deep faith, George was a devoted member of Christian Chapel (C2) Assembly of God Church. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed small-engine repair and cherished time spent playing cards and visiting with friends. Known for his warm nature and generous spirit, George never met a stranger and cultivated many friendships throughout the Columbia area.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Pollreisz of the home; daughter Tara Pollreisz of Columbia, MO; and son Scott (Ashley) Pollreisz of Overland Park, KS. He is also survived by his sisters Christina (Ralph) Thurin of Viroqua, WI and Pat (Gary) Picard of Richland, MO; sister-in-law Janet Pollreisz of Richland, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Laura Pollreisz; brothers John, Mike, Joe, and Al; and sisters Viola, Mary, Tina, Violet, Dorothy, and Ruby.

A visitation will be held at Christian Chapel (C2) Church, 3300 S Providence Rd, Columbia, Missouri 65203 on Saturday, January 17th at 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the C2 Kingdom Builders Fund.

George's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
