Georgia Tuchtenhagen Bauer, born on October 10, 1941, in San Francisco, California, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, in Placerville, California. She was 84 years old.

Georgia earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, a testament to her dedication and intellect. Her professional achievements were complemented by her vibrant personal life and her deep passions.

An avid animal lover throughout her life, Georgia found immense joy in the companionship of animals. She was an active member of the Vaqueros del Camino Women’s Trail Riding Club in San Luis Obispo and served as its president in 1978. Her love for horseback riding brought her countless cherished memories and lifelong friendships.

Georgia also devoted over five decades to raising and showing Dachshunds. Her commitment to the breed resulted in numerous American Kennel Club-certified champions. She participated enthusiastically in AKC conformation shows, obedience competitions, and field trials across the United States. Her dedication to these pursuits reflected her passion for excellence and her unwavering love for animals.

Georgia was active in the community through her involvement as a 4-H Club leader, participated in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Member of the following: Order of the Amaranth, Atascadero Chamber of Commerce, Private Industry Council Board Member, Quota Club, California Association of Independent Business, Inc, Dachshund Club of America, and Vaquerous del Camino.

Georgia is survived by her brother James Hagen; her children Harold Veerkamp Jr., Teresa Sumprer, Justin Bauer and his wife Lisa Bauer, and Jonathan Davis (whom she considered just as close as a son); and her granddaughter Christina Sumprer. Her family will forever cherish the memories they shared with her and the legacy she leaves behind.

May Georgia’s memory bring comfort to all who knew her and inspire others to embrace their passions with the same fervor she did. A Funeral will be held on April 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Westwood Hills Memorial Park 2720 Cold Springs Road. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 23, 2026, from 11:30 AM to 02:00 PM at Hagen Ranch 6170 Hagen Ranch Rd. Lunch is provided, please RSVP attendance to Teresa, 619.871.9923. Text or message.
