Georgia Ellen Goodridge, 91, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Born on August 3, 1934, in Oakland, Maine, she lived a long and full life marked by creativity, devotion to family, and a deep love for animals and nature.

Throughout her life, Georgia held various job positions before retiring from the State of Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles. Her professional journey reflected her adaptability and strong work ethic.

Beyond her career, Georgia was known for her remarkable talents in crafting and cooking. An avid crafter in thread and cloth, she dedicated countless hours to quilting—creating treasured pieces that now live on with family and friends as lasting symbols of her love. Her culinary skills were equally admired; she was a gifted cook and baker whose kitchen was the heart of many joyful gatherings. From beautifully decorated birthday cakes to elegant wedding of confections, Georgia's baking brought delight to many. Sundays were especially memorable for her homemade donuts—a tradition that filled her home with warmth and the comforting aroma of fresh pastries.

Georgia's nurturing spirit extended beyond people to animals as well. She found great joy in feeding and watching birds and opened her home to numerous stray cats and dogs over the years. Her compassion created a haven not only for her family but also for the many animals she cared for throughout her life.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: daughters Cynthia Goodridge, Kimberly Russell and her husband Wayne; and son William Goodridge and his wife Tammy. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandsons: Daryll Russell and his partner Jennifer Milotte, Kyle Russell and his wife Melody, Adam Goodridge and his fiancée Rachel Fletcher; as well as great-grandsons Mason and Malakye Russell.

Georgia was preceded in death by her sons Michael and Jeffery; parents William and Loretta O'Reilly; brothers John, William, Charles, Arthur, and David; sisters Mary Elizabeth and Katherine; and former husband Hewey Goodridge.

May Georgia's memory bring comfort to those who knew her and continue to inspire warmth, creativity, and kindness in the lives she touched.
