Gerald M. Deutsch was born January 17, 1939 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to the late Edward Deutsch and Anna (Halushak) Deutsch. He was a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1957 and received an Associates Degree in Engineering. Jerry was married to Glenda Myers in 1960. They began their family and created a home love and lasting memories with a son, David, and daughter, Kathleen. When the marriage ended, Jerry found love again and married Kathleen Flores in 1990.

Jerry started his career the day after graduation working for Fuller Company in Bethlehem for 44 years, finished working as Project Engineer. During that time, Jerry was President of The American Club of Coplay for 45 years until 2024, when he took on lesser roles in the organization.

Jerry’s life of faith was significant to him and he lived his faith building up his community and relationships in the Coplay area. The Pavilion project was a long-time goal that Jerry brought into reality. Homemade hoagies were the best around! His three great loves were the American Club of Coplay, the Philadelphia Eagles and his family.

Jerry is survived by his children, son, David Deutsch and wife, Mimi; daughter, Kathleen Bright; sister, Mary Suppan and husband, Thomas; 2 grandchildren, Daniel Deutsch, Shelby Bedics and husband, Joseph. He is also survived by fiance’ Ethel Lavenburg. He was predeceased by his brothers, Dennis Deutsch, Ronald Deutsch and Patrick Deutsch.

Services will be 10:30 am Friday March 27, 2026 in Saint John’s United Church of Christ Fullerton 575 Grape Street, Whitehall, PA 18052, where his viewing will begin at 9:00 am in the Church Parlor.
