Gerald "Gerry" Morris Ferguson, 70, passed away on December 10th, 2025, in Cypress, Texas. Born on June 2nd, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas to William Gerald Ferguson and Jane Elizabeth Ferguson. Gerry lived a life marked by deep devotion to his family, an unwavering work ethic, and a generous spirit that touched many.
Gerry spent his professional life in the oil and gas industry, where he built a remarkable career defined by innovation and leadership. He founded successful companies over the years, including Performance Wellhead and Frac Components and, more recently, he led Precision Valve Components with the same passion and drive that had long characterized his work. His dedication to excellence earned him the respect of colleagues and peers alike. Many looked up to him not only as a leader but also as a mentor who generously shared his knowledge and experience.
At the heart of Gerry's life was his family. He shared a loving marriage with Margaret Ferguson, with whom he built a warm and joyful home filled with laughter, love, and the companionship of their many cherished pets. Gerry was immensely proud of his daughters and found great joy in watching his granddaughters thrive in their athletic pursuits—swimming and volleyball brought him particular pride as he cheered them on.
He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret; daughter Amanda Sowa and her husband Bradley; granddaughters Bailey and Lilly Sowa; son-in-law Adam Sonnier; his sister Vicki Lambert, and many nieces and nephews. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Jane Ferguson, and by his younger daughter Melissa Sonnier. The loss of Melissa in January 2024 left a deep hole in Gerry's heart. His family finds comfort and solace in knowing they are now reunited.
Outside of work and family life, Gerry found happiness in simple pleasures—playing guitar, listening to music, and watching movies. He especially loved his beloved pets including his cuddly dog, Zoey, their Maine Coon cat, "PK," and their feisty calico cat, "Dottie." His sense of humor brightened everyone's day, and those who knew him remember him as a kind-hearted and loving friend.
Though he faced significant health challenges over the past year and a half, Gerry met them with courage and resilience. His strength during this time was emblematic of how he lived: determinedly and with grace.
The details for a memorial service celebrating Gerry's life will be shared at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, his family respectfully requests honoring his memory with a donation to K-9s for Warriors (www.donate.k9sforwarriors.org).
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
