Gerald "Jerry" Sharbono

1947 - 2026

Gerald Patrick “Jerry” Sharbono, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on March 21, 2026, at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Jerry was born on December 1, 1947, in Benson County, North Dakota, to Francis and Bernice (Kroll) Sharbono. He began his education in a country school and later attended Warwick High School, carrying with him the strong values of hard work and resilience that would define his life.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1968, completing his training in San Diego. His time in service was a source of great pride and a reflection of his dedication and character.

Following his military service, Jerry built a life grounded in hard work and perseverance. He worked at Knetter Cheese in Lakota before dedicating over 30 years to Covenant Transport, where he earned numerous awards in recognition of his commitment, reliability, and exceptional driving skills.

Jerry was united in marriage to Karen Zimmerman in California, and together they had three children: Teresa (Ernie) Martinez, Barbara Sharbono, and Gerry Sharbono. He later married Judy Eubank in Oklahoma City, lovingly welcoming her children—Rhonda, Tracy, and Ronnie Alan—into his life.

He found his greatest happiness in life’s simple pleasures—hunting, fishing, and cooking—often sharing those moments with family and friends. Whether around a meal he prepared or out enjoying the outdoors, Jerry created memories that will be cherished for generations.

Jerry is survived by his children, Teresa (Ernie), Barbara, and Gerry; his stepchildren, Rhonda, Tracy, and Ronnie; his grandchildren, Cienna, Roderick, Isabella, Antonio, Elizabeth, and Autumn; his great-grandchildren, Abel, Anastasia, Alynah, Aubrey, Freddy Jr., Caléo, Cameron, Jaxon, and Sebastian; his siblings, Deb (Jim) Frank and Teri Bestwick; and many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Bernice Sharbono; the mother of his children, Karen Sharbono; his wife, Judy Sharbono; and his brothers, Jim and Tim.

Jerry will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his love for his family, his pride in serving his country, and the quiet, steady way he showed up for the people he loved. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories that will continue to be shared.
