It is with great sadness we mourn the passing of Tab (Geraldine) Moore nee Collicutt on February 26, 2026 at 99 years young, in her 100th year. She was a testament to strength, confidence and resilience having lived independently until 2 months before her death.
Tabby was the nickname her mother gave her when she was a baby as "she looked like a little tabby cat." It stuck all these years. She was born July 20, 1926 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She loved to talk about her roots on the LaHave River, NS.
Tabby was predeceased by her husband of 58 years Philip Henderson Moore (2011). They enjoyed many transfers with Scotiabank over the years such as Moncton, NB, Chatham/London, ON and New York City. They settled in Scarborough, ON in 1964. Tab was a career long term care RN. She was a giver of care and love to all who knew her.
Tab had a strong sense of community. She had a bond with her Regency Cr. neighbours during her daily walks of over 1 km when it was fine and dry. She never slowed down. She was a devout Anglican and attended St. Peter's, Scarborough and later All Saints Anglican when she moved to Whitby.
Tab had a love of travel including many river cruises and she travelled overseas until she was 90. She was a lifelong knitter and knit hundreds of toques and outfits for premie babies her whole retirement.
Tab is survived by her children Kathy, Colleen (Mark), Michael, beloved grandchildren Shawn (2022) Philip (Ally), Jaqueline (Dale), Jordan (Julia), Marie (Kinsey), and Amy. She got to meet her 5 great grandchildren whom she loved briefly but greatly.
We were blessed with a wonderful care team. VHA nurse Sophia, the Chartwell Wynfield and Senior helpers teams.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Back Door Mission in Oshawa will be appreciated.
We had a family party for her 99th and her cake read "Here's to outliving the Queen" they were born the same year.
Bye for now, Tab.
